Iskra 2240

Iskra 2240(c)Sergei Frolov

This is the Iskra-2240, a very beautiful calculator.

It has 4 memory registers, rounding (down, 4/5, up), fixed or floating decimal modes. Sigma keys are for switching functions (on/off positions). After holding sigma keys, memory registers have functions: (after pressing [=] key with two-operands numbers)

  • 1st: (Reg. 1) + (1st operand) -> (Reg. 1)
  • 2nd: (Reg. 2) + (2nd operand) -> (Reg. 2
  • 3rd: (Reg. 3) + (result) -> (Reg. 3)
  • 4th: (Reg. 4) + 1 -> (Reg. 4).
  • Example: after clearing all registers and computing
    [1] [+] [2] = (3)
    [4] [+] [5] = (9)
    [7] [*] [8] = (56)

    Reg. 1 = (12), Reg. 2 = (15), Reg. 3 = (68), Reg. 4 = (3).

    Calculator has memory for 31 digits in the one number. You can compute: [0.123456789012345] + [1234567890123456.] - [1234567890123456.] = (0.123456789012345)

    You can enter numbers:
    from left to right in the "floating comma" mode,
    from right to left in the "fixed comma mode".
    For floating momma mode, switcher of comma position is used for displaying numbers with required digits. In the fixed comma mode this switcher used for displaying numbers with required digits after the comma. When swithers are turned, number on the display will automaticly updated.

    Switchers: [E] (sigma) - turn on/off statistic function. Keys:

  • |> - store number in to memory reg.
  • <| - recall number from the memory register.
  • (1), (2), (3), (4) - add number with register.
