Precision DC motor speed control.

A thought provoking article from EDN (free and no excessive advertising, though some).

Precision DC motor speed control via pot or DAC.

Might be worth investigating for NBTV discs or drums...

If you're into electronics design in general it's worth subscribing to EDN...it's often more an ideas source than actual finished projects...I have found it quite useful...there is some maths involved, but it's generally simple (high-school level), if you get stuck others here should be able to help (PMs)...

Partly the demise of the respected UK publication, "Wireless World/Electronics World", was due to the new owners Editor asking for article submissions without any maths. You can't really do electronics design or explain how something works without it.
