Yeah, there's quite a bit of this sort of stuff around now-a-days.

Another example is this fan I bought for my son. Its programmable to allow different messages to be displayed.

I've done a few tests and determined that its actually synchonised as you can slow the fan blades down (by pressing on the spinner) without the picture breaking up.

Actually - it was this similar clock which first put me onto the idea that LEDs might be very useful for mechanical TV and it was that very day that I found the NBTVA :-)
