Is that because you don't have nuts for the shaft's thread?

Yes and that's because the shaft thread is of a special size and configuration for a plastic fan blade and will not take standard M8 nuts, the thread appears to be a bit more sloped too which causes the disc to not align properly too. Anyhow I hope it will still work.

Just fired up the televisor again after putting the disc on the right way and aligning it for minimal wonkiness and it's working quite well once again so I'm pleased about that!:) I now see everything the right way around.

G'day all. I have had a crack at filming my large televisor in action, seeing the picture was very dim, I thought I'd try one of my 90s CCD camcorders and so I used my Panasonic NV-RX3A CCD camcorder I recently got off a mate. Looking at the light settings on the side, there was one with a picture of a candle, so assuming it was for low light I used that setting. So I had the camera on tripod in close range of the televisor and fired up the televisor and to my pleasant surprise the camera's sensitivity was so good that the images on the televisor came up nice and bright, even brighter than on the televisor itself!!! :D So I've now done a 50 minute video of the televisor in operation recording it all to VHS tape. Here are a bunch of screen snaps I've taken off the screen on playback off VHS tape using my phone camera:

I have also uploaded a 51 minute telerecording of the TV in action using my Panasonic NV-RX3A which the picture came up quite well when using candlelight setting, it can be viewed here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMha1Fwvu1A .
