I think technically it should be orange and cyan as two colors, I played a little with colors in my computer program first, and certainly orange cyan would give a better results, but I tried to avoid building the third channel led driver. I suppose it is possible to use separate orange and cyan LEDs instead of rgb. I may play later with it. For now, as I managed to destroy my rgb led too, I am back to monochrome, this time using a bank of 12 orange less. Elsewhere on this forum it was mentioned that original neons had pinkish hue. May be combination of pink and orange less can reproduce close to original color?

I would try adding a couple of blue LEDs to your orange array to get pink. The blue simulates the discharge of argon, which was mixed in small amounts with the neon in the bulb.
