Mechanical TV at it's best (DLP)

Whilst certainly not NBTV there is no "Mechanical TV" (as opposed to electronic TV) category (and it is definitely NOT off topic) so this is the best location available for looking at DLP, in addition there is an attempt to produce an NBTV version of same.

True. It most definitely of a mechanical nature but a typical user here would treat the commercial device as a chip - signal in, picture out. But those who would like to repeat Albert's Niptrix using this method and hand-building some 1500 of these mirrors instead of LEDs would certainly justify creating a "Mechanical TV" section.

It is very similar to the 2-axis single vibrating mirror method, which does have a proper name, I just can't recall it. One could view it as a parallel method as opposed to serial, and the light source doesn't require modulating.
