The colour system used commutators to change the light source.
The Epsom OB unit used 3 zones (Cinemascope!!). The centre zone was transmitted as usual for those with televisors at home to see the Derby race. 2 other zones were added to widen the picture and shown on a 10ft x 8ft screen in Metropole cinema in London. 1st June 1932.
The Noctovisor used infra red for use in fog. Baird is at the controls.
