A few more photos from "Television, today and tomorrow."
The colour system used commutators to change the light source.

The Epsom OB unit used 3 zones (Cinemascope!!). The centre zone was transmitted as usual for those with televisors at home to see the Derby race. 2 other zones were added to widen the picture and shown on a 10ft x 8ft screen in Metropole cinema in London. 1st June 1932.
The Noctovisor used infra red for use in fog. Baird is at the controls.

Sorry about the barreling on the photos but did not want to flatten the book's spine.

Thank you for the additional pictures, another period book is "Television up to date" by Robert W Hutchinson published by University Tutorial Press LD in 1935, second edition in 1937, reprinted in 1940.
Mine is a 1940 reprint of the 1937 edition, the original mechanical material is suplimented with Baird 240 line / EMI 405 line system information.
Although the mechanical television content is not extensive it gives a ballanced account of UK television up to 1937
