Conversion of a radio to an amplifier

Postby McGee2021 » Mon Dec 19, 2016 3:31 pm

Since the BBC doesn't transmit television signals anymore( well, not USEFULL ones we can use.), i wanted to build a Baird model a radio receiver, but use it as an amplifier i could plug my televisor light source into. I have no need to tweak the output voltage, but it does need to be able to power a Baird neon! Any idea on how to do it? Perhaps remove the detection stage...

Some others (Peter Smith?) made the receiver as is and made as well a very small Amplitude Modulated signal source, that can be connected to the antenna input of the Baird receiver. Such a circuit is not difficult and you use the total receiver chain. On the other hand, you also experience the practical use of such a simple (3 lamps) straight receiver.
