2 scanning discs?

Postby Viewmaster » Sun Jul 29, 2007 4:57 am

Here's one for DrZarkov.......
I cannot make out why 2 discs are here and what appears to be 2 neons? Why 2? It looks like recent home construction.

(It's all in German and although my wife speaks it she cannot understand the techy terms.)

A translated version here:

(or just go to google's translating tools, specify the original link, and German to English translation).

I'm afraid the google translation will one day be the reason for WW III, so in short the information:

The Telehor was "multinorm", you can use it for the Berlin system with horizontal scanning or for London, with vertical scanning. You just had to change the spinning direction and the used lamp. (Better you change the disc, too, to get the right aspect ratio).

The second picture is just a demonstration system with camera and televisor. For perfect sync both scanning discs are on the same axes.

Amazing equipment!

Notice that this equipment appears to use phonic motors for synchronisation and original or original-style plate-type neon display lights and photodetectors. If they are original they are very valuable. If they are reproductions they are amazingly good and I want some.
