Club Circuit Build

Postby Andrew Davie » Thu Mar 02, 2017 12:37 am

My clubshop order has arrived. Took just over 2 weeks from the UK to Tasmania.
I'm building a replacement for my original televisor (which was hacked onto a single board about a decade ago). I'm starting afresh.
To be honest at the moment I'm a bit fed up with it all.

Andrew, which club boards did you buy?

Don't just put them together, power them up and see that they don't do what you hoped.
Build them step by step, stage by stage and test before you start with the next step.
Then fault finding is simple. And you are making faults. You learn from them.

- You will need a source of NBTV signals. What are you planning to use?
- The CD-player? Is that ready to use?
- See that it is.
- Make a cable to its output
- and connect it to your little scope.
- See that the signal is as you expect it.
- We want to see it.
- This is your source. Once it is running, don't change it.

OK.
I have the club CD with test signals now found.
I have a CD player with line out.
I built a cable with correct polarity.
I bought the Peter Smith circuits.
I have confirmed valid NBTV signal by scope but will redo and prove it with a picture, tomorrow. Now is time for sleep. 2am. Work tomorrow so I have to get SOME rest!
