BBC Monographs

I only recently tripped across these documents which are freely available, but somewhat of a chore to download from the BBC site. They cover a period from 1955 until the last one I was able to access, No. 80 issued in December 1969.

They cover many aspects of broadcasting, sound, video, acoustics, lighting, you name it...the most interesting one to start with is #39, entitled,"Twenty-five years of BBC Television".

In true BBC style of the period everything is explained with a clarity that is rarely encountered these days, a thoroughness that defies belief yet with a brevity that makes it a pleasure to read.

These are valuable documents, I give the current-day BBC credit for allowing free download of these documents now they're effectively today a commercial organ.

I also append a copy of the previous issues in a jpg file so you can pick and choose which ones might be of interest you.

The content is technical and may be a bit heavy going for some readers, yet the math where possible is kept to a minimum...

Well done Steve.

Monographs 17 and 45 are worth a read, might be down scaled to NBTV use,
