In this link you will see the History of mechanical television.
The first part is presented by Don Mclean and focuses on Baird and his company.
What they have done about television, and also the financial part and exhibitions.
( The audio is part English part French with translation )

The second part focuses on Barthélémy and the Companie des Compteurs.
How the developped television in France, in 60 and 180 line.
The end is about the transmitter at the Eiffel tower.
( audio is in French only but there are many interesting photographs and schèmes )
