My black dog has returned and I have lost the will to NBTV. I am taking a break from hobby activities for a while.

I haven't posted here for a good while but this has brought me back! :)

You'll be badly missed Karen. As I'm sure do many others here, I wish you all the best wherever life takes you. May you find peace of mind, personal fulfilment and contentment.

I hope one day perhaps you'll feel like coming back. Then, once again we'll all be able to benefit from your own very special contribution.

Steve

I can only but concur with the two postings above.

However Karen, you do say that you'll be just taking a break, so we look forward to your return whenever that may be, that is, when it suits you.

Kindest,

Steve Anderson.

Explain me, what is a black dog? Is it a dog with black hair, or is it something different? And if it is a black haired dog, why should she leave the NBTV-hobby?

From wikipedia:

"English writer Samuel Johnson used the term "the black dog" in the 1780s to describe his own depression, and it was subsequently popularized by depression sufferer former British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill."

Karen's probably gone now but I wish her all the best anyway. Hope you're back engineering on the edge soon Karen.

Gents, (I can say this again as it isn't directed at Karen)

Please for the time being can we leave this thread alone, Karen is in a state of shock and depression. I'm not going to go into specifics about it, except to say we've had a number of exchanges by PM within the past week.

I am tempted to temporarily lock the thread, but we're all mature enough to respect what can only be described as a tragedy...with that I won't lock the thread.

I will update you (without the specifics) in due course.

Steve A.

Dear All,

Last week Karen requested I cancel her account here, I held off for several days to give her time to reflect on her decision. But as she requested her account has been closed.

Her reasons for this are entirely personal and private and will not be disclosed at all.

All I hope is she continues to contribute to the NBTVA in the enthusiastic manner of the past.

And with that closure this thread will be locked.
