On another thread I mention the use of a microscope to enable me to see
the tiny holes in the Nipkow Nipper film images.
We all have quite tiny holes in our standard Nipkows so working upon these with some precision does require a microscope which we don't always possess.
I didn't have one either but made one from one side of an old pair of binoculars and a 2" focal length lens....a standard eyeglass works well.
It was mounted on a crude stand, the binocular adjustment being used for the final focusing. As you see the eyepiece is just stuck onto the binocular with PVC tape
I do enjoy precision engineering
Piccys show end of a standard sewing needle and a hair from my head....
...now I'm even balder
