Is it possible to make homemade CRTs display TV pictures???

Postby aussie_bloke » Sun Nov 11, 2012 11:00 am

G'day all.

I've seen on YouTube many examples of homemade CRT experiments which the tubes are temporarily evacuated with an air compressor and they display on the phosphor coated screen oscilloscope like wave patterns this one being a good example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QBOAx3IGZ4 . Anyhow I was wondering has anyone made a homemade CRT and made it into a workable television displaying pictures with the use of magnetic or electrostatic deflection and fed a video signal??? And is it even possible or are these homemade CRTs to display a television picture or possibly even a NBTV picture???
