Audio analog record stroboscopes

Postby Lowtone » Sat Jul 20, 2013 10:09 pm

Hello, i asked this on a forum about audio cassettes and stuff
Lowtone wrote:Do someone knows a programm to print strobo for analog discs ?
I have a few "78" who plays at 80 and such odd speeds
This would be a good help to set the speed in an accurate way

But i remeber there was a here a software for Nipkow's disc who calculâtes the size and the number of holes.
Do you know if something similar can be done to print stroboscopes ?
( for 50 and 60Hz, for speeds 16,33,45,78 and also 80 and some discs are "between 90 and 100" )

You could use the same formule and just change it. I think you are talking about the Excel spreadsheet (I think it was from Eckhard Etzold) to calculate a Nipkow-disc?

I don't remember it was Excel
It was some program where we write the number of lines and it gives a file to print with the strobe pattern and the dots where to drill holes

That program I only know for MacOS X, unfortunally PPC only. It was written by forum member Sergei, KD6CJI. Maybe you can contact him for the sourcecode.

But I've found something better, I think: http://www.christerhamp.se/phono/strobo.html
