Thanks for the update! Terrific! Can you release the updated source as well? I'd love to help contribute...are you using any form of source control or ways to manage contributors?

The source is in the archive. I'm ashamed to say that I don't have any version control. Bad, I know.

Hi i have been experimenting with the software i was meaning to ask does it add the framing sync to the video ? This would come in handy .
Also i have been trying to increase the scanning area of an image it sticks to the nbtv aspect ratio screen ..is that set ? i can move it around the areas of the image .
Is it possible to bring up the image before you hit the start making a wav file ?

Its working very well i still have to play with it more but its pretty good , a mult standard version monitor software would be very handy too one day ..but this is great to test in standard and out of standard line and frame rate systems for monitors...Lucky we have people like you and Gary and Dom that have made software its very helpful for this hobby .

There are quite a few sync options you can configure on the "channel setup" dialog. By default (in the NBTVA preset), it adds 175uS pulses at the beginning of each line and there is a missing pulse at the end of each frame.

You can't yet adjust the size of the frame with your mouse but you can adjust it by changing the "width" and "height" on the input dialog. If you uncheck the "lock aspect" checkboxes, you can set it to any aspect ratio you would like. It's supposed to be also possible that you can lock it to any custom aspect ratio but it seems to be broken. It's the first time I noticed that bug so I'll add it to the list. I should really set up github and use a public bug tracker!

Unfortunately there is no preview option. But what you can do is set it to output to the sound card, start it and set up your position and size, stop it and then set it to create the WAV file. It will keep the position and size unless you change input file.

One of these days hopefully it will happen. I'm a college student now so I have rather limited time to work on hobby projects at the moment. It's certainly planned though.
It's amazing how much software there is targeting such a niche hobby!

Testing some settings on Free NBTV and my sound card answering a question Steve was wondering what my sound card could do .
I set Free NBTV to 64 line frame 12,5 hz 360 pixels per line .
Sample rate started with 48000 and BPS 8 and moved to highest setting i could do 192000 BPS 16
This all seems to work results in image screen grabs below ,used Doms software to view.
EDIT you may notice there's not much difference to the bottom image but notice the line bottom of test card

Thanks for testing! There is a big difference going from 48K to 96K but not much difference going to 192K . It might be downsampled to 96K

HI its something i never tested as well BTW before i forget i could not get 48 line to work correctly on Doms software worked fine in 32 and 64 ..
EDIT ....must of been a computer problem its working now so forget the error

Yes you could be right what the sound card can do and what it lets you do and says it can do can be two different things....192khz i can see the line right at the bottom of the test card so it must be recording at a touch higher than 96khz....may be on the top setting it just works the card to the maximum ...

I was trying some other test cards today ...

I have just used it on my machines which all run windows 7 and its worked fine on different pc's .
I don't know the operating system your using ...but the version 3 seemed to work great also version 2 was ok for me ...i only had trouble loading version 1 and again i have only tried in on windows 7 i dislike windows 10 so never bothered with that operating system.
So if you have another pc laying around for it on you can track down the problem if it has windows 10 and plays up again you know its that ,try windows 7 but the error screen to me looks it is not the program but a virus program installed on your pc that's stopping it loading for some reason .
Hate virus programs some times there worse than a real virus!

Those DLLs are part of GTK (the GUI library that I am using) and are definitely not viruses. Something is wrong with your detection software

Edit: I just tested it on Windows 10 64 bit and everything seemed to work fine.

OR, perhaps the DLLs on that particular machine have been infected?
