Hello,
this is a question to Dr. Zarkov.

I just wanted to ask how the website http://www.zarkovision.de/impressum.html got its name?

Okay (via Google):
"Dr. Hans Zarkov is a fictional character appearing in the Flash Gordon comic strip and the following serials, films, television shows and comic books.
Zarkov is a brilliant scientist who creates a rocket and forces Flash and Dale Arden to come with him to the planet Mongo, and fight against Ming the Merciless.
By the second storyline in the strip, Zarkov becomes a more sympathetic character who works with the heroes to become a regular companion."
Ref.: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Zarkov

Can someone on this forum tell me the meaning of this strobe wheel?
Is this design recorded anywhere and can it have formed part of a transmitter?

[image removed by moderator. It is a Nazi black sun symbol - clearly identified by the filename of the image. While I am against censorship in any form, nonetheless, this image is off-topic and has no place on a forum related to mechanical television.]

If so, could a hypothetical text, image or sound added to the outer rim of the wheel be in any way decoded?

Best, Eric

Hello, I just saw this thread, so sorry for the delay. I'm using the nickname "Dr. Zarkov" for almost 20 years in several internet forums. It came out by chance, because there was "Flash Gordon" on TV 20 years ago, when I needed a nickname for the "Amiga Club im BTX und Internet" forum :)
Well, and "Zarkovision" is just a mix of Dr. Zarkov and television, as a fictional brand for TV-sets :)

About that stroboscope: No idea. It's not from my homepage, as far as I know. I think it does not look like a stroboscope at all, but more like the so called "Black Sun". That would explain the two "N"-runes in that "stroboscope".

Wo stammt es her? Sicher nicht von meiner Homepage.

Das machine ist nicht fur fingerpoken und mittengrabben.

LOL I only say that as the usually reliable firefox "translate the selection" comes up a blank here for some reason.

https://translate.google.com is a good place to get translations...

Hello Zarko, thanks for the answer.
Already clear that this part is not published as 'Stroboskopscheibe'.
However, there is a certain similarity in the number of segments (32).
The 'runes' in the middle part could be part of a holding device (locking).
I do not go into the missing text, it's pure B.S.

Is there someone who has the BS disc installed in an NBTV set?

Yes that's what is called when using "Translate selection with Google Translate". Alas it doesn't work work at the moment (anywhere as it turns out).

Sorry for my answer to "ehabich" in German, but he posted that Nazi-symbolic "Black Sun" logo and called it a stroboscope. As a matter of fact, it is the "Schwarze Sonne", if you try the google picture search, you'll find a lot of links to very strange Nazi-sites. So I wonder if "ehabich" really didn't know that, or if he is just provoking.
