I found this interesting "interstellar map" about terrestrical television programmes, and when they reach the stars. Alpha Centauri is only 4.3 lightyears from here, so they can watch now very soon Chris Ecclestone as the new Doctor Who. On Aldebaran they can see the last 30 line transmissions on earth, if they have a capable receiver and a good antenna...:

Hmmm apparently not, according to that map they can only pick up American TV shows... (poor blighters).
