Restoring Baird's Image
by Don McLean

A very well written and beautifully presented book about the recovery of video recordings from the 1930s. Contains some very interesting information about the technology used for generating and recording video images at this time. Highly recommended.

"The Mechanics of Television" is an excellent book
by Peter Yanczer. It has been invaluable to me through my learning experience and is very highly recommended.

For people who understand German: "Der magische Spiegel" by Pieter Coll, published in 1967 (so only at antique book stores available), is an excelent source, mostly from the german point of view, but of course the author has not forgotten to write a chaper about Baird and his experiments. Even if this book is about the story from the very beginnings until Walther Bruch and his PAL colour-TV, more than half of the book is about mechanic TV.
