Perhaps one thing nbtv has never retried is the wonderful makeup for 30 line cameras :roll:

The electromagnetic spectrum has no theoretical limit at either end. If all the mass/energy in the Universe is considered a 'limit', then that would be the only real theoretical limit to the maximum frequency attainable.

I can just imagine how KISS would appear in front of the flying spot scanner :lol: or perhaps Red Symons from Skyhooks when he had all that makeup on :lol:

Realise yourself that this is due to the IR sensitivity of the photo cells. This bleaches out the human face and the hairs. That is the reason that very heavy make-up was needed to give a recognisable result on the monitors.

This will happen too when you use a silicon sensor, e.g. dome sensor for a Nipkow camera. However a suitable blue-green coloured filter in the light path will correct this more or less.
