Baird Test Card Drum

Postby McGee2021 » Fri Sep 09, 2016 2:43 pm

i am building a relatively simple replica of the Baird test card drum, or whatever you want to call it, like the carousel or rack. I was assembling my old Baird test-cards i printed off, and i was going to have a local artist draw some new, custom ones, since where i live is a major tourist destination during the fall (when i cant go to town for "reasons unknown"), and it has been considered an artist colony for the past two centuries. But anyway, to get to the point, i lost the newsletter that had the example of scattered lettering for transmitting a name on Baird's Televisor. I think one of the examples was for a lad by the name of Freddie Carpenter. So if anybody could give me a scan, it would be much appreciated, so i can finish this project before i get replacements for my lost newsletters. :D

Its a good idea can't say i have read of any one making one of those before good work my friend
The electromagnetic spectrum has no theoretical limit at either end. If all the mass/energy in the Universe is considered a 'limit', then that would be the only real theoretical limit to the maximum frequency attainable.

Most of them are from the man with a flower in his mouth, you can read about it here:http://www.tvdawn.com/earliest-tv/the-man-with-the-flower-in-his-mouth/ on Don McLean's website.

Found the test-cards, It just took me a bit of exploring on the forum. They are about half way down the page, Here: http://www.taswegian.com/NBTV/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=526

Time to try out scattered lettered writing!

I have ordered a few web cameras, and i still have to make a selector switch to switch between cameras, such as the one for the 'studio' and the testcard drum.

Thanks, as soon as I get ink for my printer, I'll start to print them off and assemble them.
