1928 Mechanical TV on eBay

<h2>Mechanical Scanning disk television made 1928-1929 </h2>
"Here is something you don't see every day. A mechanical scanning disk television made in 1928-1929. There are very few of these TVs in existence throughout the world. The wood frame is in very good condition and the Daven scanning wheel type T-4680 is in great shape. The wheel has openings for 24, 36 and 48 line scanning and the wood frame has small openings for each one. Everything is labeled on the TV (maybe an educational piece). The kino lamp is a Raytheon that looks to be fine. The on/off switch works fine and the motor does run, it doesn't seem to have enough power to keep the wheel spinning but maybe a little degreasing and new oil could solve that problem."

Looks like this was constructed from the articles in December 1928 and January 1929 issues of Popular Mechanics. See http://www.earlytelevision.org/pop_mech_dec28.html and http://www.earlytelevision.org/daven_tristandard.html -- note the same sort of disc used, the same tri-standard with same # of lines, and the same date of manufacture.

Sold for US $3,383.00! Wow! You could get the best Flatscreen TFT TV for that money

Compared to the Baird Televisor for 2,600 EUR at an auction in Cologne last year or the Daily Express monitor for 1,200 EUR in Datteln last week a lot of money...

Perhaps you should go back to Datteln and make an offer on that Daily Express monitor!

My wife will kill me! The problem with the Daily Express monitor was that I'm still not sure if it is a replica.
