NBSC Player / Recorder

Postby dominicbeesley » Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:50 am

Hello all,

Hello all,

Just a quick message to say there is a new version of the NBSC Playback and Recording software at http://www.authorityfile.co.uk/NBSC/dow ... fault.aspx

New this version:
Much smaller install file!
B&W Baird 30 / 48k
B&W Baird 60 / 48k
Records + Play CCNC colour NBTVA 32 / 44.1k
Records + Play CCNC colour Tekade 60 / 48k [this should probably be changed to 96k]
Records + Play CCNC colour Tekade 30 / 48k
Also there are a set of low bandwidth NBSC colour standards, these are thus far experimental and a bit ropey but will hopefully enable colour broadcasts over an amateur link at some point in the future.

Cheers

Thanks Graham,

I'm sure if I spent as much time on my real work I'd be rich by now...

I'd love to hear back from anybody with any reports on using the player or the recorder softwares. Positive or negative! So far I've only had one report back about the recording software....so I'm not sure whether it is working for anyone else!

Cheers

Thank you very much Dom!

The player works now on 60 lines and I can compare my disc results to an "ideal" digital picture.

Now it's possible to watch clips converted to 60 lines and to see what impact remains after such reduction.

The bugs found: 1."Capture frame" stalls the programm. 2.Playback position cursor, when touched, crashes Windows XP and I get automatic PC restart :? Once not using these features, everything is fine and works well.

Unfortunately my NBTV 60 lines project is on hold now, but I'm really happy to have your player and it inspires me to continue with 60 lines!

Thanks Dom,

I have installed it and had a bit of a play, it is very easy to use!

I'll fire up my mirror screw a bit later and post the results.

Thanks heaps, for doing the tekade standard in there!

Hello Dominic,

When using 'default' on Tekade for sound capture it crashes the program.
Not sure if I'm using it right thoug, should default capture the sound from youtube?

Thanks, my single transistor LED driver isn't working so as soon as I get the LED array running of the radio I post picks.

Thanks again.

Hi Marcus,

Have you enabled loop back sound? Follow the link at http://www.authorityfile.co.uk/NBSC/art ... struct-9.3.

If that doesn't work does it give an error message at all?

Cheers

I got it working I just needed to enable stereo mix in the audio out settings.
Working perfect now, it is great to be able to convert stuff right off youtube.
Thanks again Dominic.

I cannot open NBSC Recorder, it just crashes.
But NBSC Player shows error and after clicking continue kinda works...
I am getting this error:

Hi Jakub,

My post from earlier today must have gone missing. Please let me know if Smeezekitty's special version worked or not. I just spent a couple of hours updating the software here but it's not quite finished. The version on the website doesn't seem to work with newer 64 bit computers...sometimes. The version I'm making now should do and will hopefully be a little bit better too! I'll post back this weekend with an update.

If you're still having troubles this version might work better. It has been updated to use the newer v4.6 .Net Framework and SlimDX instead of the quite old DirectX managed code libraries.

Let me know how you get on!

I'll try and get round to speeding this up a bit as it tends to struggle when playing back with bot the scope and vectorscope running even on my fastest machine.

So Thank very much as it now works now :) !!!
But I've found some bugs:
1. Recorder cannot record to file, and same is direct to speakers:
Code: Select all
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at ScrapeNBSC.Form1.timer1_Tick(Object sender, EventArgs e)

2. Smooth in Player doesn't work, maybe it works or it isn't supposed to work :D
3. Playback position control in Player doesn't work either(or maybe i don't know how it works).

So again, thank you that you fixed it and got it working..

Hi Dom i use windows 7 the new frame work 4,6 will not load on this computer with windows 7 i suppose ,i still use your older version and works well .
The electromagnetic spectrum has no theoretical limit at either end. If all the mass/energy in the Universe is considered a 'limit', then that would be the only real theoretical limit to the maximum frequency attainable.
