Newsletter Archive CD

Postby Andrew Davie » Sat Aug 28, 2010 12:21 am

I'm considering a purchase of the NBTVA Newsletter Archive on CD. Has anyone seen this, and if so could you please comment on quality, completeness, perceived value, format of files, etc.
Thanks

I have had a copy for some time and found it very good and easily searchable. I think Keith Vickers did a great job for the club with this. The copy I have goes up to Vol 33 No.3 (March 2008) so I do not know if it has been updated recently.

Yes I have it. They are scanned from hardcopy to pdfs similar to that found here:

http://www.taswegian.com/NBTV/forum/download.php?id=899

http://www.taswegian.com/NBTV/forum/vie ... hlight=ocr

They have a "Searchable NBTV Newsletter index by Keith Vickers G1NAF. This index contains copies from the original ideas sheets (red book), Volume 2 and 3 (green book) up to Volume 33/3.
Please NOTE: The archive CD only extends to the black-and-white Newsletters i.e. up to Vol 33/3.
"

Perceived value? - invaluable.

Hear hear,

Had it a while and only just got round to looking at it a couple of days ago ... looked something up and three hours later still looking through articles!

Well worth the money!

Au$26 (plus the usual exchange rate charges)

when I got mine:

Currency conversion: $32.53 AUD = £15.75 GBP
The exchange rate for this purchase is 1 AUD = 0.484168GBP

So you are lucky as the exchange rate is now much more favourable.

Yes, I also made a PayPal purchase via Vic today.
Good to see the forum generating business for the club.
