A link embedded in a pdf file to a youtube posting works quite happily here, it keeps file-sizes reasonable. If you wish your own copy a 'download helper' does the trick. There's one for Firefox on Linux, others I don't know.

Use it all the time Steve (shameless plug for my own channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/NBTVer/videos).

Using Youtube is fine but for the newsletter (copyright) they would at least have to be created as unlisted or private - something the NBTVA would not have control over.

"Download Helper" is great but does have issues maintaining compatibility with Firefox, the version that works with the latest release of Firefox is in beta only, however I have it installed, and whilst substantially different in usage it works well enough. These days I tend to use the standalone application "4K video downloader", the advantage being, although my monitor doesn't support 4k I can download it as 4k (when available) which allows me to "zoom in" on finer details.

Morning Gary,

Slightly off topic.
Interesting. I wasn't aware you had a youtube channel.
Have you added the link to your website?

Cheers,

Graham

You know, I never thought of doing that. Thanks for the heads up. Now added.

Some, if not most, would say that's a good thing Graham. ;-)

Not that I'm aware of, I'm eagerly awaiting my first copy in 'cyber' format (a pdf).

I have been in contact with Jeremy in the last week or so, I didn't mention the newsletter, nor did he offer any information regarding it.

Hmmm...I haven't received the .pdf version as yet, I'm not so concerned about the speed of delivery but the fact that I won't have to scan it and convert it to a ,pdf myself. The printed copy then gets thrown out which is a bit of a waste of resources.

Mine was on my doormat yesterday when I returned from an "extended weekend" away.

The .pdf version of the newsletter arrived in my in-box late last night, Tuesday. Allowing for the time-difference it was sent around 2pm UK time (BST).

I have received my pdf version as well, well done NBTVA!

One thing to note is that the "from" field comes up as "the place" - as a result I ignored it for several hours before I realised what it was - a minor detail and one I won't be caught on again. Most people, no doubt, check the subject field first but I have to be different! ;-)

Yes, congrats are in order for the NBTVA crew.

'The Place' furrowed my brow, but the attachments had appropriate file-names and extensions so I opened them.

I'm really happy with the quality, both the content and the fact that it not a crappy scan anymore.
