Video2NBTV V3 Help

Postby reshiram202 » Sun Nov 22, 2015 3:55 pm

I tried to convert my RCA Victor Color TV commercial mp4 to wav using this software. It says that it can't connect to video grabber. Any help? Thanks.

I would think that the tv wouldnt be 625 or 425 lines. if its an HD, Plasma, or LED tv, i wouldn't think it would
work. Another reason it wouldnt work is that your computer is to new and cant support the old software

So I should probably use something like DirecTV Youtube to properly convert it?

if on youtube, you can set the pixels to 625 and save the video to your computer, or on directv, you would have to hook up the reciever box up to your computer and set it to a channel that isnt hd.

You would open a video, hit the settings gearwheel, hit quality, and chose the lowest pixel amount that you can. if that doesnt work, than chose the next choice available, and so on.

Is it possible to get a program to do that?

Video2NBTV will work with ANY video format PROVIDED there is a directshow filter installed for that particular format.

If you post the video (or a small clip taken from that video) I can *almost* certainly tell you if there is a filter available for it and how to install it.

(I say almost because there is a finite possibility that it is a 3rd part propriety format (or a modification to and existing format) for which no filter is available. That is unlikely though.)

What filter do you use for mp4 format?

It depends. MP4 is more of a metadata container than a format in it's own right.

The video in it can be MPEG-1, MPEG-2, H.264, and MPEG-4 part 2.

Not all filters will cater for all of those video formats.

On my computer the one that plays mp4 videos downloaded from Youtube is the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder which I think is installed when you install Windows Media Centre.

That, I am pretty sure requires W7 - so it's just not all that straight forward.

You could just Google "mp4 directshow filter" and install one or more until it works, but really, it would be simpler if you could post an example of the video that doesn't work as there may be other issues.
