On another thread I mentioned about testing veroboard testing after soldering.
This may well be obvious to most but a few beginners might benefit from this........
When checking for either track cutting not quite cut through or track to track shorts or IC socket pin shorts to neighbours etc etc always put the
1st prod on the 1st position and check with other prod somewhere else on that position that you get continuity before placing the second test prod onto the next position to be checked and so on.

It is not unknown for the first to be in non contact and so when checking with the second prod if a short is not indicated it may be because you didn't ensure that the first prod made continuity with the circuit........
