The electromagnetic spectrum has no theoretical limit at either end. If all the mass/energy in the Universe is considered a 'limit', then that would be the only real theoretical limit to the maximum frequency attainable.

On the subject of vintage magnetic recording i also came across this home made reel to reel ,must of been some project for those days ,glad its a project that wasn't lost in time and made it here .
