Albert, did you get your divide-by-two circuit sorted out?
Steve A.
Steve, thanks for asking ....
The trouble I am having (an old bone of contention here as usual) is not being able to sync.
My Edikow cylinder is revolving at 2 frames per sec. (64 sync holes per rev)
I have a 3.5 inch dia. 64 tooth sync wheel which will not sync.
SO, I was about to try blanking out every other hole, divide the sync from the CD player by 2 to see if that would improve matters.
Hence my query about divide by 2.
Before trying this though I have done this.....
My original sync wheel was made out of steel and was not well drilled.
Vic Brown kindly sent me some small darvic offcuts and I have now made an accurate 64 tooth sync wheel, with 1/32 inch dia holes.
The wheel gives me nice pulses, but the o/p from the 4046 is very erratic, compared with, say, an oscillator 400 hertz injection into the 4046 instead of the o/p from the wheel.
Unlike a NBTV disc which smooths out irregularities my Edikow mandrel doesn't seem to, so it may be this is causing the sync pulses from my 3.5 inch disc not giving me a constant timed pulse.......
... On my scope there does seem some sideways movement of the sq wave as the wheel rotates.....back to the drawing board maybe?
These things are sent to try us, so they say!
Albert.
